DuPage Airport Runway Rehabilitation & Extension
DuPage Airport is a premier general aviation facility, located in West Chicago, Illinois, and administered by the DuPage Airport Authority (DAA). The airport has experienced growth in permanent and long-term clients that has, in effect, reduced the amount of space available for transient aircraft storage.
This project assisted in fulfilling that need with the construction of an approximately 35,000 square foot storage hangar immediately south of the existing DuPage Flight Center and control tower. The hangar was designed to accommodate aircraft as large as those within the classification of FAA Design Group Ill, with a single large open bay accessed from the airside by multi-panel sliding hangar doors. An adjacent space was provided on the north end of the hangar to house support equipment, including de-icing trucks, tugs for aircraft relocation, and golf carts.
