d'Escoto, Inc. is providing construction engineering inspection services to IDOT District 2 for various roadway construction projects for the 2011 construction season.

 

Previously, d'Escoto, Inc. served as the Liaison Engineer for consultant upon request services for various road and bridge rehabilitation projects in District Two for IDOT, assisted IDOT's Resident Engineer with on-site inspection including roadway resurfacing, patching, bridge repair, and bridge rehabilitation to ensure all plans and specifications are followed and documented all of pay quantities, daily reports, and as-builts per IDOT standards.

Wacker Drive Viaduct Reconstruction


d'Escoto, Inc. is currently providing Professional Construction Engineering Services for the Wacker Drive Viaduct Reconstruction multi phase Project. Wacker Drive is a reinforced concrete multi-span structure with two levels for vehicular traffic. For this section of work from Randolph to Monroe, the viaduct is approximately 1,400 feet long by 130 feet wide.

 

Work on the project involves complete demolition and erection of new caissons, grade beams, columns and a post tension high performance concrete deck with concrete overlay. The work will also provide improved drainage, lighting and traffic signals as well as a new ventilation system for the lower level. Rehabilitation of the existing bascule bridges, perpendicular to Wacker Drive will also be accomplished. d’Escoto is providing Field Inspection services for the duration of the construction project as well as Administrative Support to the PMO office.

Chicago Department of Transportation - Michigan Avenue Viaduct Reconstruction

 

d'Escoto, Inc. provided Construction Management services for the rehabilitation of the entire viaduct from Congress to Wacker, including removal and replacement of the existing structural pavement. The project includes:

     Demolition of the existing viaduct super-structure and partial sub-structure removal from Wacker Drive to Lake Street.

     Demolition and reconstruction of existing bridge deck at the Wacker Drive and Michigan Avenue intersection. Roadway reconstruction from the north side of Lake Street to the south side of Randolph Street.

    Lower-level roadway work includes pavement, sidewalks, stairway landing reconstruction, sewer lining, drainage, lighting, and traffic signals. Upper level roadway work, including pavement, sidewalks, stairways, sidewalk re-surfacing, drainage, lighting, traffic signals, and planters.
