Overview

Client: Chicago Department of Water Management

Location: Chicago, IL

Description

The project consisted  of  approximately  3200’  of  60”  to  24”  diameter  sewer  pipe installation as well as installation of ADA ramps and pavement restoration within the project limits.

The limits of the project site are on 116th Street from Justine Street to Elizabeth Street, Bishop Street from 117th Street to 118th Street, 118th Street from Bishop Street to Justine Street in the West Pullman neighborhood.

We coordinated with Whistler Elementary School, local residents, and utilities.

Services Provided

To accomplish the requirements of each project, d’Escoto, Inc. is providing personnel:

d’Escoto, Inc. provided the Resident Engineer and Field Inspectors that performed the following services:

Resident Engineer 

  • Manage and organize field inspection needs
  • Perform site inspections and assist the inspector with fieldwork as needed
  • Review and check the daily report with a measurement sheet
  • Assist the contractor with utility coordination
  • Coordinate with other agencies and city departments
  • Prepare a break report if a utility is hit.  Coordinate with that utility for repair
  • Prepare paperwork such as PCMs, LICs, field orders, ADA ramp QC reports
  • Prepare the monthly estimate
  • Address concerns by the public

Field Inspector 

  • Inspect the work to verify it is constructed per City standards and specifications
  • Inspect the installation of the earth retention system
  • Inspect the excavation, installation of the sewer and/or sewer structures, and proper backfilling of the excavation
  • Inspect any restoration work needed
  • Measure all work and submit the daily report with measurement sheet
