Description

The improvements constructed under this contract was performed along the Tri-State Tollway (I-294) between Mile Post 44.3 (Dempster Street) to Mile Post 44.6 (Ballard Road) in Cook County, Illinois.

The work under this contract included:

  • Install Revetment Mat in Ditch Line / Regrade Existing Access Path
  • Seeding, Erosion and Sediment Control
  • Maintenance of Existing Bioswale on West Side of I-294
  • Weed Control
  • Coordination with City of Des Plaines and United States Army Corps of Engineers

Services Provided

d’Escoto, Inc. provided the following as the lead engineer:

  • Completion of full set of Plans, Specifications and Estimates.
  • Design completed fully in 3-D using Bentley Geopak and current Tollway standards.
  • Provided compensatory storage calculations to ensure the floodplain volume stayed balanced.
  • Researched specifications from vendors of revetment mats to ensure the path could structurally accommodate the required loads.
  • Checked pay items against historical data to compile a cost estimate that was within 1% of the contractor’s bid.
  • Implemented a fully electronic (Bluebeam) review procedure.
  • Responded to RFI’s based on changes in site conditions.
