The Knapp Center for Biomedical Discovery was designed to provide high quality wet lab space to support clinical research programs of the Departments of Medicine and Pediatrics. The 12 story Knapp Center for Biomedical Discovery provides 330,760 square feet of research space for groundbreaking initiatives in the University of Chicago Division of Biological Sciences. This facility houses laboratories and office space for principal investigators, postdoctoral students and graduate students in the departments of medicine and pediatrics, as well as the Cancer Research Center.
d’Escoto, Inc. provided construction management services to the University of Chicago for the construction of the Knapp Center for Biomedical Discovery. Services supplied by d’Escoto, Inc. included: management of subcontractors in regards to coordination of weekly meetings and issuance of notices of delays, back charges and non-compliance; review of change orders prior to submission to Owner’s Representative; maintenance of contractor payrolls and punch lists; maintenance and generation of construction logs; and construction safety checks. d’Escoto, Inc. also provided MEP quality control services.
