So much goes into the proper documentation and inspection of construction projects. Daily supervision of all field activities ensurecontractor work is executed per project specifications, and accurate records of quantities, safety measures, and material testing ensures quality and mitigates riskOur roles have consisted of resident engineers (RE), assistant REs, documentation technicians, and construction inspectors—each with the necessary certifications to successfully perform their roles on projects. Key tasks include but are not limited to the following: 

  • Coordinating and communicating between trade contractors, adjacent contracts, utility companies, and stakeholders 
  • Change order and extra work order reviews 
  • Documentation of contract quantities and calculations for progress payments 
  • Contractor pay request reviews and recommendations 
  • Field construction drawing set updates to reflect as-built conditions using MicroStation capabilities 
  • Database maintenance (IDOT ICORS, e-Builder, etc.), verification and reporting 
  • Inprogress meetings with the Owner, Designer/Engineers, Contractor, Program Manager and Construction Manager 
  • IEPA regulations inspecting and reporting to ensure the prevention of pollutants caused from construction from entering waterways and streams 
  • Quality assurance coordination and monitoring 
  • Requests for Information (RFIs) responses 
  • Traffic safety and signage inspections and reporting 
  • Contract closeout including requirements for controlled inspections, punch listextensions of time and final reporting and equipment tracking logs
